Happy Sunday, we hope your new year is off to a great start! 2020 brings us some changes on the board that we would like to share with everyone.
Star, our board member as community manager has just been crushing it with events that highlight bringing Evolved closer together from across all our games. We are excited to announce Star has agreed and was voted in to fill the vacant 3rd Triumvirate spot. She has the ability to see all sides of a problem and is always willing to help out anyone. Star puts the community first and we’re extremely excited (especially Tae) that she is joining the Triumvirate. As such, Star will continue her duties as Community Manager. For more information on the difference between Board and Tri, please check out our charter.
Next part of Board news is less happy. Soulquake, our Game Director, has decided to step down from the Board. He will always be known as an Architect, which is a founding member of Evolved… We on the board have known Soul for well over 4+ years (1.5 as a board member). He has been a constant friend, and has been with us every step of the way in creating Evolved. Soul is not going anywhere, he will still be around, still have access to board chat and give input. Thank you again Soulquake!

Discord
We have been noticing some complaints about members that have there Voice Activity set so sensitive that we are hearing lots of annoying background noise. If you are asked to turn it down please do so. If its not getting any better you will be asked again to turn it down.
If its getting to the point where its getting annoying you might end up finding your self server muted. Please respect your other fellow members they do not need to hear your every breath. Also if need be you might be asked to switch to Push-to-talk.

We are really trying to attempt to bring our community closer together. We try and add in different channels based on what our members are playing into our Gaming section on discord. But we really need some help from you all as well. When we scroll down the member list to see what people are playing its always coming up blank under there name. We would like to ask all of our members to do the following.
- Click on your Settings (Cog Wheel) in the lower Left side of discord
- Click on Game Activity
- Look for “Display currently running game as a status message.”

With everything that is going in the world, we know that times are getting stressful and might get worse before they get better. Please remember that our Evolved Community is here for you in these hard times. Our doors are always open if you want to talk or just vent with what the world is going through right now. All we can do is stay positive and be there for each other since our little online family/home is a sanctuary for a lot of us right now.

Overall
Looks like things are starting to loosen up within the world we live in. More and more social gatherings are happening, stores are opening and people are venturing out into the world. Please make sure you are all staying safe out there.
News
We are changing the way we do VETERAN Members before it was done when we created Evolved it was a carry over from WoW Alliance and all of its Veteran Members they had. Now we will be changing our charter to do something different and this is how.
COMMUNITY VETERAN - are those that have contributed to the Evolved Community over an extended period of time.
What does this process look like?
Once a year, members of the Board and Triumvirate will reach out to each individual guild and chapter leadership within Evolved. Leadership will be contacted to make nominations of 3-5 members from their respective guild or chapters whom they think are worthy of Community Veteran rank. This will typically happen a month or two prior (July or August) to Evolved’s anniversary (September)
Your leadership will be on the look out for individuals that shine with in there Guild or Chapter
In Other News
Discord is a free service that we use to communicate with everyone through the various different games we play. There is a Server Boost that members have been doing that helps us get great things for our server. But its coming to a end. We are not looking for everyone to go out and pay money to assist. DEATH STRANDING
Hideo Kojima’s first solo effort since splitting from Konami, Death Stranding, finally has a PC release scheduled for this summer.
Kojima has remained tight-lipped over what we can expect from Death Stranding. Even genre-wise the Metal Gear Solid director reckons this game will be the origin of a new genre called strand games.

Rocket Arena is EA’s new 3v3 shooter. As you might have guessed from the title, rockets are the favored ammunition of the day here, and you’ll be blasting your way across its various maps where timing is absolutely everything. The good thing is that you can’t die in Rocket Arena – you may get blasted out of the arena if you take too many hits, but you can always ride your rocket back in and return to the fight. Finally, an arena shooter I can get behind.

Community News: The board voted to remove the mature label from every discord channel that contained one. Example: Party 3(Mature) is now just Party 3.
As board members we’re always looking for ways to improve the community, and we felt there were just too many cases of confusion between the channel labels, and we hope this will clear it up.
What does this mean? We want every channel to feel the same, we don’t want people to have to avoid channels due to labels. Mature language is of course still allowed, we want you to be able to enjoy and express yourself, we still want you to feel comfortable, and we are hoping this helps. Our guidelines on langue are still in place, if someone takes it too far, or too vulgar, you will be asked to tone it down. And as always, racial, homophobic, or any hate speech at any time is grounds for instant removal from the community.

Days are getting darker and it’s starting to get colder. Make sure you’re starting to get the winter prep stuff completed before the water hoses outside freeze and burst. Also with it getting colder means you might have to pull out your winter activity items and clean them up as well as tune them up.

With Christmas time fast approaching, we have a few fun events planned for the month of December. I am excited to announce we will be doing Secret Santa again this year! Last year had quite a few members who participated in this event, and we were all excited to get the chance to do it again for 2020. Keep an eye out in the next few days on Discord and the forums for more info and how to sign up!
**Christmas holiday channels: **
Starting on December 1st we will add a new Text channel into the Events section of discord. Everyone will have until December 25th to post pictures of what you might ask? Well these three categories. You will have until December 26th we will shut down the channel. Take all of the pictures in each category and create a poll on forums and all the members from our community will get one vote. Voting will last 1-2 weeks. The top 3 for each of the categories will be announced.

Tis the season @ Everyone. What a crazy year it has been and now we are going into our final stretch of 2020. Please remember to be safe out there not just this month but every month for that matter. We have those new events that kicked off on the first for some holiday fun. So make sure to check out the #christmas-tree , #house-decorations and #gingerbread-house channels.
Announcements, Pins & @ mentions
This always seems to come up from members around our community they just cant figure out how or what to do. Well its really simple and we are all adults so I’m sure we can get it all figured out. But at the end of the day it’s the personal responsibility of the member to keep tabs and check up via announcements, pins, @ mentions and forums
Announcements - These are located in every Guild, Event and Gaming section to give the members the ability to find quick information about what they are looking for.
Pins - Well its really simple. At the top of discord there is a pin emblem. Click it of every text channel to gain information and knowledge on that specific channel to better your self. Most times it will have a red dot to indicate there is some new.
@ mentions - These will show up as red indications on the channel for you to find and read any information that the officers need you to know. Missed a @ mention? well your in luck… in the upper right had side of discord is a in box. Click that and poof… you can see all the @ mentions you missed and it will bring you right too it.
The other problem with @ mentions is Tags. Well… Maybe you missed out on @ mentions due to well… you dont have a tag. So head on up to the #jedbot-authentication and add some tags to your name so you can stay in the loop of things.
