WoW Gold Guide

Start With What You Know

There’s something about you that’s special. Unique. Something you have that other players don’t. Work out what that is, and profit from it. Match your Unique Abilities with your Buyers’ Needs

  • PvPer? You might be able to make gold by selling arena boosts

  • Raider? You could sell tanking or healing boosts or queue jumps? Sell spots in your end game raids for loot.

  • Roleplayer? I bet you know the transmog market inside out.

  • Pet Battler? Your knowledge of the prices for battle pets and their sources will enable you to learn niches that other players don’t know.

  • Pretty good at professions? Check your professions in our search and see if there is a guide that matches your abilities.

  • Know your way around Azeroth? Hunt down limited supply items and rare recipes from all over the world.

Patient? Try farming. Clever? Try AH flipping. Friendly? Ask your friends what they need. Nosy? Watch other gold makers on youtube or twitch. Determined? Get into a market that requires reposting and reposting. Coder? I bet your TSM profiles could put mine to shame. Nostalgic? Do you remember old ways to make gold that others have forgotten? Timelost Isle maybe or Blackrock Depths? Completionist? Do you have all the cooking recipes yet?

Start with one market and grow

Once you’ve decided where to start, and done a little research online, it’s time for you practice. Remember that you are going to fail and when you fail, you will learn something. Follow your guide precisely and when you get results, make sure you understand the result, so you can make alterations if needed.

Why is There No One-size-fits-all in Warcraft Gold Making?

People are all different. Some readers will enjoy farming, some readers will enjoy auction house trends and flipping. Some of you might need a new task every 15 minutes, some of you will be more organised and have a whole weekly routine going. Some readers will have invested in their professions, others will be really interested in the transmog market.

Servers, and your buyers, are all different. RP Gear is not going to sell so well on a PVP server. Raid consumables will sell better on a server with high population of raiders. Some servers are more interested in pets, some want a stack of 200 mats, some only want one.

Time changes. The game changes. Items are nerfed, buffed, go in and out of fashion. Raid consumables sell at a particular time, trade mats at a different time.

Don’t Go Too Fast

You’re a person, not a robot. Go slow, go steady, and you WILL have a foundation that lasts for years and years. There is a reason that the free email goldmaking course is one per week. It’s so that you can get every thing understood before building on it. Strong foundations.

Best Farming Toons, Addons and things to know before farming.

When making a gold farming character, these are the most important points to remember.

Personally, I have a main that I use for current content, and a Druid for all dungeons transmog runs and outdoor farming. Demon Hunters and Monks also work very well, and having a Rogue for opening chests and boxes doesn’t hurt either.

NOTE: Druids can also use Dreamwalk and Monks can use Zen Pilgrimage at the end of the dungeon, reset the dungeon and port back.

  • Bag space: Get the biggest bags you can for your inventory and for your bank.
  • Personal Guild: Make a guild for just your character, so that you can use the guild bank for additional storage. The easiest way to do this is to ask in chat, and maybe pay a small fee to get people to sign your charter, then kick them from the guild.
  • Bank Alts: If you need even more bag space, consider making a bank alt.
  • Movement Speed: Movement speed is often overlooked when farming gold, but it is really important. Especially when farming older content. Most classes can clear any dungeon pretty easy but some do it faster. See this WoW Movement Speed Guide for info on how to spec for speed.
  • Personal Vendor and Repair: Having a vendor you can summon in some sort of way is very useful when farming so that you can sell trash quickly. One of the easiest ways of getting both a vendor and a repair guy is getting theReins of the Traveler’s Tundra Mammoth Reins of the Grand Expedition Yak or Reins of the Mighty Caravan Brutosaur.
  • Opening Lockboxes: During farming, you will be getting a lot of lockboxes as time goes by. If you don’t have a character that can open lockboxes, simply make a class trial rogue and mail all your lockboxes to him to open up.
  • Potion of Treasure Finding: Can be used in Cataclysm zones for additional loot. Also works in dungeons and raids.
  • Professions: Enchanting & Tailoring (for cloth scavenging) are great for farming old content and transmog. Herbalism & Mining are good for making easy gold in current content. See professions section further down for more info.

Addons are one of the most important things about using the AH and life in WoW in general. They provide an easier time of posting your auctions and finding amazing deals. They’re pretty easy to install. Keldesh wrote AddOns: How to Install and Maintain if you need help installing them.

  • Auctioneer is the best Addon I have. It does scans of the AH pages which can take about 1 hour to 1 1/2 hours on a high pop server and 15 to 45 minutes on a low pop server. Then you can search through the data that it collected and purchase the cheapest things. It really is a handy Addon to have even though it’s older, in fact, it was just recently updated! Note that on low pop servers this Addon works amazing but on high pop servers I recommend the following Addon.

  • TradeSkillMaster is another amazing Addon. I would go for all the modules since they all seem to be pretty helpful. Just note that some are out of date such as WoWuction which will cause several bugs. One of the best mods that catches my attention is this one: Accounting. It keeps track of all of your gold made within the time you first got the Addon and the current time. The other part of this that is awesome especially being on a high pop server is the auctioning mod. It makes posting a BREEZE. There are videos on YouTube to help you set this stuff up. I’ll show a screenshot below at the end of this guide.

  • MogIt seems odd in this section doesn’t it? Well in this case it will be very helpful. MogIt shows what an item looks like when you mouse over it in your inventory which means you can identify what looks good. What that means is that if your item looks good then you’ll get profit from it because it looks nice and people will be willing to pay more then usual.

  • Ark-Inventory is a must have in my opinion. It is extremely helpful. It provides a different interface where your bags are all joined, it’s much easier to use, you can sort things, and you can search for things. Though some people prefer Bagnon. I personally enjoy Ark-Inventory’s customization options and the design is aesthetically pleasing.

  • GarrisonCommander is the best for making garrison routines as fast as possible. This will be used for your Order Hall as well, and trust me that you can use anything that speeds up your routine every night.

  • TheUndermineJournal works well with it’s website and is a must have for easy pricing. You can mouse over any item and it will tell you the going rate which is good for an approximate estimation of value.

Auction House / Banker

The Auction House / Banker is the main way to make gold. No it does not provide gold quickly but it does provides a steady stream of gold every day. The auction house is very helpful if you want to save up for something, want to hit the gold cap, or simply have something incredibly valuable in your bags and want to sell it for as much as possible. The original Auction House system was very annoying without addons to use at least in my opinion.

With addons however, the AH interface becomes extremely simple making it easy to post, cancel and view your auctions. This section will be explaining the basics of how to use the AH and which addons I think are useful with the AH. Also it will cover some tips for getting started. Note that AH goes great parred with Farming and it’s allot simpler getting started, so I will also be covering the subject of the AH in the Farming section.

Auction House Basics

Setting up your banker
If you’re already familiar with this then feel free to skip this part.

Level 1 Banker

  1. First, create a character. For alliance I’d stick with a Human. For Horde you can do any except for Goblin. As long as they don’t have separate questing areas (such as Worgen, Draeni, Goblins) any choice should do.

  2. Next, either run or have a mage portal you to a major city. For Horde I recommend Thunder Bluff, Orgrimmar, or Old Dalaran. For Alliance just stick with Stormwind or Old Dalaran.

  3. Then transfer gold (500 minimum) to your banker toon.

  4. Equip yourself with all four, 30+ slot bags

Max level banker

  1. Equip yourself with four, 30+ slot bags.

  2. Clear out your bags and bank as much as possible.

  3. Organize your bags extremely well. Use addons for this, and make mental notes of your organization process.

  4. Since it’s a max level character, or even your main you should already have a fair amount of gold, but if you don’t transfer it. By the way, I don’t recommend using your main if you’re a Hardcore Mythic + player or raider/pvper. Only if you’re a casual player.

You can purchase a guild using gold. This is used to store materials, and anything else for later use. On your banker, these is extremely helpful but not at all necessary. A 7 slot guild bank is typically around 10k to 20k in gold. I wouldn’t purchase one for any more than 18k to be honest. An 8 slot is too pricey to justify the cost (usually around 40k), just get a 7 slot. Even a 6 slot is helpful. Use trade chat.

Sometimes you’ll get lucky and the seller will sell it to you with stuff still in the bank! Guild banks can also be used to store gold which can be good, because as they say, don’t put all your eggs in one basket. You could accidentally purchase something outrageously expensive and be left with no gold. Split it up among many characters. Just be careful not to get ripped off! Go through all the necessary precautions, looking at the bank, checking out the facts, etc.

If you don’t want to take any chances and just want raw WoW gold, this part is for you. There are a couple of ways to farm raw gold and you can potentially make 50k-100k+ raw gold a week for this.

Raw gold farms can be done on as many alts as you want or have available.

First of all be sure to check Emissary Quests for rewards with raw gold. Which will gain you 2000g.

After reaching exalted with the 7th Legion or Honorbound you will get a chest for every 10.000 rep containing 4500g.

Next up check your mission table for raw gold

World quests also reward you with a good amount of gold, and not just the BFA ones, but the legion ones too!

These are the best areas and dungeons that you can farm for raw gold.

Iron Docks
The Iron Docks are a WoD dungeon. Each normal run gives you 500g-650g in raw gold if you vendor everything. A run can be done in less than 6 minutes with a movement speed optimized character. Making it possible to make up to 6000g raw gold per hour.

Another great WoD dungeon for raw gold. A run will net around 500-550g in raw gold. Can also be done in less than 6 min with decent speed. Around 5000g per hour.

One of the best ways to farm raw gold is to do Cataclysm, MoP and WoD raids. These can all be soloed easily at level 120.

Warlords of Draenor - raids are worth a combined 25.000g if you do them on all difficulties. Talk to Seer Kazal in your garrison to enter LFR mode.

Mists of Pandaria - raids are worth about 7000g. Siege of Orgrimmar can be done all of the difficulties.

Cataclysm - raids are worth abouut 5000g.

In this section of our WoW gold guide, we will be covering farming mostly older content for transmog and other items. Most of the items you will be getting are transmog, but also recipes, crafting reagents and pets.

The idea is simple; go out, kill things, take their loot, sell it. In this guide, we split farming into three parts, farming raids, dungeons, and open world.

An important aspect when selling transmog on the AH is that it often takes some time to sell. Therefore you will make more gold the more diverse your portfolio of items is.

If you only farm one tier of gear. Let’s say for example gear in the 60-80 bracket. You will be limiting yourself as the demand won’t be there and you will end up with too many items. You will end up with many of the same items for things that aren’t in demand but might sell occasionally.

This means that spreading out your farming across all tiers is best, as you will get fewer of each item but more different items to meet the actual demand.

A good way to think about it is to each week go farm some vanilla, some TBC, some WotLK, etc. So that you end up with a whole bunch of different transmog, and increasing your chances of selling some of it, even though a lot will take time to sell or not sell at all.

When farming legacy raids or dungeons, you want to always try to keep your runs 6 minutes or around there for optimal farming. This is because you can reset an instance 10 times per hour, so if you do a run every 6 minutes you can keep farming nonstop.

Having the Loot Appraiser addon is an easy way to time your runs.

To exit an instance quickly. Create a group in the Group Finder when you are finished in the instance, then leave the group. You will then be ported out of the instance after a minute.

When you got a dungeon down, you can make and leave the group around one minute before you reach the end of the dungeon and you won’t have to stand around and wait for 1 minute. This will teleport you to the nearest graveyard, on most dungeons this is right outside but on some, there is a bit of a run.

Druids can also use Dreamwalk and Monks can use Zen Pilgrimage at the end of the dungeon, reset the dungeon and port back.

Below is a list of the dungeons that I think are viable to farm for gold. Vanilla dungeons are generally best, so spend most of your time in those.

While Lootappraiser might make it seem like you are making more in WotLK dungeons and up, those transmog actually doesn’t sell very well and the posting fees are much higher than for vanilla transmog. So you might end up loosing gold by farming these dungeons.

The dungeons below are just sorted by level and not by how much gold you make, since that is very hard to determine, and varies from server to server.

The bulk of dungeons you will be farming will probably be classic dungeons. These have the rarest items and the transmog from here sell far better than any other.

Gold farming Youtuber WTBGold made a list of the most profitable dungeons to farm. The list for Vanilla dungeons are as follows.

Wailing Caverns

(Click to see the video on Youtube!)

Not a dungeon you want to start of farming in, but if you have a good selection of items on the auction house, WC is worth a visit.

You can either do half the dungeon up to Lord Cobrahn and then exit and reset. Or if you are very fast you can do the entire instance up until the last boss, but always skip the last boss.

Notable drops here are Gloves of the Fang and Ceremonial Leather Loincloth that sells very well! Other than that, there you will get a lot of different mid-value green items.

Shadowfang Keep

(Click to see the video on Youtube!)

Shadowfang is the twink dungeon. You can get a bunch of different valuable twink items here.

When soloing at a high level all items will be level 60, except for in chests. The items in the chests will be around level 20 and those are the ones with the most value.

A level 20 Shadowfang will be worth several times what a level 60 one is worth. Bringing a Rogue or someone who can open locked chests is therefore advised.

When you get to this room it’s time to turn back and jump down to the courtyard to go out and reset.

The big-ticket items in Shadowfang Keep are ShadowfangGloomshroud ArmorAssassin’s BladeMindthrust BracersDuskbringerNecrology Robes – and a bunch of other minor rare items.

Blackfathom Deeps

(Click to see the video on Youtube!)

Blackfathom Deeps is one of the best dungeons for filling up your auction house with valuable transmog.

A lot of the greens from here are quite valuable, and the zone has a ton of different rare zone drops as well, most which are worth 10-50k.

One important thing to remember is to not kill Domina, Subjugator Kor’ul or the Guardian of the Deep. If you don’t kill them and then click the Fire of Aku’mai after killing Twilight Lord Bathiel, you will spawn a bunch of additional mobs. After killing these mobs you can exit the dungeon.

(Click to see the video on Youtube!)

Gnomeregan is only really worth farming gold in for a couple of really high-value twink items. The Hotshot Pilot’s Gloves and the Caverndeep Trudgers.

These are zone drops but has a slightly higher drop chance from bosses, so you want to kill all the bosses as fast as possible.

There is also some more zone wide rare drops that are worth a bit here, but nothing that comes close to those two items.

Razorfen Kraul

(Click to see the video on Youtube!)

Razorfen Kraul is one of the best best zone to fill up your auction house with good transmog.

It has a big selection of zone-wide rare BoE drops, great green drops and a guaranteed chance for a rare BoE from the Enormous Bullfrog. The frog drops a selection of around 30 rare BoEs, most worth around 1-3k. After killing him, there is only one group after that you should kill and then you can leave the instance.

When you get to the bat room, create a group in the group finder and leave it. This will give you one minute to kill the frog boss and you will be ported out, right outside the instance.

Razorfen Downs

(Click to see the video on Youtube!)

This dungeon also has a great loot table. You won’t get as many items as in Razorfen Kraul, but you have a chance at super rare items like the Pattern: Rich Purple Silk Shirt.

RFD is also very fast to run and it’s easy to circle back to the entrance to restart. Using a Rogue or someone who can open chests can be smart here as there are quite a few.

Dire Maul

Click for Warpwood Quarter Video

Click for Gordok Commons Video

The Gordok Commons is good to get a few copies of A Thoroughly Read Copy of “Nat Pagle’s Guide to Extreme Anglin’.” that spawns on the floor every time, but still sells for 5-10k to lazy paladins.

The Warpwood Quarter is also good for transmog and will drop a decent amount of materials with some value that will sell quickly, click the pods on the floor for more stuff.

The locations of the Nat Pagle Book ground spawns.

(Click to see the video on Youtube!)

Uldaman is one of those dungeons you want to hit up after building up a decent inventory on the AH. You won’t see many items of value here, but if you like playing the lottery, then Uldaman is for you.

Some of the rarest items in the game drop from here including the Papal Fez, Pendulum of Doom, Miner’s Hat of the Deep and The Jackhammer. All of these are worth millions of gold. More common drops like the Ginn-Su Sword are also worth a bit.

The chest after the last boss has a chance at up to three greens and sometimes rares. There are also two other chests marked below.

The chest marked in red is a guaranteed drop, the green is not.

(Click to see the video on Youtube!)

ZF is another great dungeon to fill up your AH. A lot of popular transmog items drop here, like the Jade set and Glorious set. With the jackpot being the Glorious Legplates.

You can run the dungeon clockwise or counterclockwise, a bit depending on your speed. I manage to do the whole dungeon in 6 minutes and get outside. But if you are a bit slower it might be better to run it clockwise and port out after the room with the graves and zombies. Always remember to click all the graves for loot.

(Click to see the video on Youtube!)

Maraudon is the best vanilla dungeons to farm to fill up your Auction House. It has a wide variety of drops and you will get a bunch of herbs that will make you money fast in addition to the transmog.

Run the dungeon from one entrance to the other and it should take you around 6 minutes, then reset and run back the other way.

Blackrock Depths

(Click to see the video on Youtube!)

BRD has a good loot table and maybe the most amount of mobs in any dungeon, making it a great dungeon to fill up the AH.

Finding the best route for you can be a bit tricky because of the size of the dungeon. I will usually only do about half the dungeon, killing as many mobs as I can in 6 minutes. After 5 minutes, make a group in the group finder and leave it. That will leave you a minute to complete your 6 minutes and you will be ported out on the 6-minute mark, ready to reset and port right back in.

Lower Blackrock Spire

(Click to see the video on Youtube!)

In LBRS you are after two things. Plans: Arcanite Champion from the last boss and Plans: Arcanite Reaper from a rare mob called Bannok Grimaxe.

Transmog drops here are also decent, and the whole instance can be run in 6 minutes or less if you are fast. There are also quite a few chests in the instance.

TBC transmog is nowhere near as good as vanilla, but you should still farm some to diversify your auction house portfolio at some point. Some of it is still pretty valuable and sells pretty quick. I usually only farm TBC dungeons for a few hours a week. Rare patterns and plans can also drop in TBC dungeons that are worth a lot of gold.

Sethekk Halls

(Click to see the video on Youtube!)

This is a really fast dungeon with a bunch of mobs. You can circle right back to the entrance after the last boss. You will spend a lot less than an hour to do your 10 runs here though, so I would do 10 runs then move on.

Also a quick dungeon with a path back to the entrance after the last boss. Lies right next to the Sethekk Halls so you can switch between the two.

The Mechanar

(Click to see the video on Youtube!)

One of the best dungeons to farm for some quick and easy TBC era transmog and patterns.

The Underbog

The Underbog is another good and quick choice. You will get a lot of Mote of Life and various herbs. There are also gatherable herbs for chars with Herbalism

Like with TBC, you want to limit the time you spend in WotLK dungeons. There are some nice items to be had but you won’t be making as much as farming vanilla dungeons. Not many people farm WotLK content though so you won’t have as much competition on a lot of items from here.

Drak’Tharon Keep

Quick path back to the entrance after the last boss. Some decent zone drops like Brighthelm of Guarding. But most of the value is going to come from uncommon transmog. Even better if you can bring a skinner.

(Click to see the video on Youtube!)

Enter through either of the entrances. Run the dungeon in a U shape and exit through the other entrance. Skip the last boss.

Halls of Lightning

Also has a quick way back to the entrance after the last boss. Relic of Ulduar drops a lot and will sell relatively quick most of the time.

Pit of Saron

You will only be farming this dungeon for the Battered Hilt. The transmog in here is terrible. The drop chance for the hilt is pretty low but because of the number of mobs in the Pit of Saron, it is not that hard to get. I seem to get one in about every 20 runs.

Always farm here on heroic so don’t kill any of the bosses. Kill all the mobs around the pit, head out and reset.

For all Cata dungeons remember to get your Potion of Treasure Finding which will have a chance to drop Tiny Treasure Chest. Generally, Cata dungeons aren’t worth farming much though and you should head to Firelands(see raid section below) instead.

The Vortex Pinnacle

Generally what we’re looking for is Volatile Air. This farm is as easy as pulling the entire instance all the way to the first boss (DO NOT KILL BOSS) – and AOE’ing down ebery mob that follows. It’s by far the most effcient volatile spot, but it has hits limits as you can only reset an instance 10 times before you have to wait a while to do it again. If you only going to be on for an hour or so, this is the spot you want to hit. It’s great, fast, and awards a high liquid value of items.

If you get locked out of dungeons (Did 10 in less then an hour) there is 2 things that you can do.

Switch to a different toon and check out your other farms you might have alts parked at. So your not wasting your buff on the Potion of Treasure finding.

or if you have Skinning. Fly right below the instances and do the Uldum Baby Crocolisk Skinning Farm

Below is a list of what I think are the best raids to farm for gold. This is mainly taking transmog and crafting reagents and such into account. Other raids can be farmed for rare pets to make gold, see the pet farming section further down for more info.

Molten Core

The first raid of WoW is still a decent gold maker. The trash in the area marked on the map below can be farmed, just avoid the bosses and you’ll be able to reset the instance. This area is especially good for miners as you can mine Dark Iron Ore and Blood of the Mountain, which sells for a decent amount.

You can also get Teebu’s Blazing Longsword from some of the mobs, although it’s really rare.

After you finish your last trash mob-run, you can do a whole run for a chance at pets from bosses and two rare quality BoE items from Ragnaros.

Molten Core trash mob farming route.

Ruins of Ahn’Qiraj

AQ20 is a really nice transmog farm. The worms called Silicate Feeder are actually the mobs with the best loot in the raids so be sure to loot them. They are found between the 3rd and 4th boss. Be sure not to kill ANY of the mobs in the room with the 2nd boss as that will start the encounter for the boss. You can go through the whole instance without killing any bosses, so you can choose to run the entire raid or exit after killing the worms by creating a group in the group finder and leaving it.

The green part of the route is optional.

Sunwell Plateau

There are a whole bunch of trash mobs that can be farmed in Sunwell Plateau before the first boss. These have a chance to drop a huge variety of Designs, Schematics, Patterns, and Plans (See

Depending on your run speed you can get all the mobs before the first boss in 6 minutes or less. If it takes more than 6 minutes, consider cutting down your route.

This raid has a huge amount of trash that can be farmed. A lot of the items that drop are quite worthless but because of the share amount of mobs, there are decent chances of getting some big-ticket items like the Blade of Wizardry or other rare transmog items, if you spend some time here.

Due to the complexity of the interior of the instance, learning the farming routes are easiest by watching a video.

(Click to see the video on Youtube)

This is a great Cata raid to farm. There is a ton of trash mobs that are easy and fast to kill. Epic BoE drops like Obsidium Cleaver as well as a bunch of Plans and Patterns are quite common. Most are not worth much but they do sell, at least on high pop servers. BoE world drops like Morrie’s Waywalker Wrap can also drop, though very infrequently.

Use Potion of Treasure Finding for more loot.

Giant Dinosaur Bone

(Click to see the video on Youtube)

On the Isle of Giants, north in Pandaria. These drop from any mob here. A lot of gold can be made but it is a popular and well-known farm so expect competition.

Desolace Naga Farm

(Click to see the video on Youtube)

This is a great solo farm, mainly for Druids but can be used for Monks as well. If you have neither, you can use a Druid class trial. A lot of transmog drops here and it’s super easy to get the Naga to hyperspawn. Just stand in the spot shown below and use this macro:

/tar Slith

/cast Moonfire

The Admiral’s Den – Thousand Needles

(Click to see the video on Youtube)

Cave to the south filled with quickly respawning ogres. Lots of transmog drop here with the big-ticket being the Saltstone set. Can be done either solo or in a group.

Windshear Mine – Stonetalon Mountains (Alliance Only)

(Click to see the video on Youtube)

Mobs here will force spawn solo if you are quick, but having a group is better.

Tranquil Gardens Cemetary – Duskwood

This can be done with just one person but works better with more. Kill all the Rotting Horrors around the Tranquil Gardens Cemetary for a chance at the Staff of Horrors

Gordunni Outpost – Feralas

(Click to see the video on Youtube)

This farm can be done in a group but works very well solo as well. The area is really small so getting the ogres to hyperspawn is very easy. The transmog here is not great but you can also get the Sprite Darter Egg. Only kill the ogres outside the cave to start hyperspawning them.

Good transmog farm, especially for Monk. Can also get Tiny Crimson Whelpling here. The farm is on the road east from Greenwarden’s Grove in Wetlands and works best as a monk if you want to force respawns quickly.

Felpaw Village – Felwood

This farm can be done either solo or in a group. Good amount of transmog and a chance for Pattern: Living Leggings.

Corin’s Crossing – Eastern Plaguelands

Can be done solo or in a group. Mostly for the Dark Rune, which doesn’t sell super fast, so farming this location for an hour every once in a while is enough.

Bladefury’s Command – Talador

One of the few good WoD transmog farming spots. WoD transmog tends to sell decently as not many people are farming it, but you should still limit your time farming it. This spot can be done solo or in a group. The main item you are looking for here is the Blackrock Bulwark.

talador gold farming

Auctioning For Parts

You’re after all the items to make the Super Cooling Module from Shadowmoon Valley, Nagrand or Talador, and the Cyclical Power Module from Frostfire Ridge, Gorgrond or Spires of Arak. Some are worth only a few hundred but I’ve sold a few for over 20k. They drop from any mob in the zone. I haven’t found an optimal spot, but all these zones have plenty of areas with densely packed mobs.

Crashin’ Thrashin’ – Tanaan Jungle

Crashin’ Thrashin’ Roller Controller, Crashin’ Thrashin’ Cannon Controller, and Crashin’ Thrashin’ Mortar Controller all drop from three rares in Tanaan Jungle with about a 10% drop chance.

Doctor Weavil – Dustwallow Marsh

You are looking for the Big Red Raygun which drops from Doctor Weavil on Alcaz Island, If you can’t see him it’s because your phased after completing the Theramore Scenario. You can visit Theramore as it used to be by going to the Zidormi at 55, 49.

Doom Lord Kazzak – Hellfire Peninsula

Spawns in Northern Hellfire Penninsula. Works best if you have a char you can log out here and relog every so often to check. Doom Lord Kazzak Drops a selection of epic BOE’s like Hope Ender.

Doomwalker – Shadowmoon Valley

Doomwalker spawns outside the Black Temple. Works best if you have a char you can log out here and relog every so often to check. Drops a selection of epic BOE’s.

Cataclysm Rares

There’s a selection of Cata rares that drop various BoE items. Poseidus also drops the Reins of Poseidus BoE Mount.

Mists of Pandaria Rares

Mists of Pandaria has a few rare mobs that drop epic BoE’s. Most are in Krasarang Wilds and most drop leg slot gear. Scritch is also very good as you can get the Hozen Peace Pipe from him. The best way to farm them is to occasionally check if they’re up and kill them all in the order listed below. That way you basically just fly through Krasarang Wilds with a short visit to Townlong Steppes, The Jade Forest and Kun-Lai Summit

ScritchKah’tir – – Kah’tirCournith WaterstriderGo-KanRuun GhostpawSprigginArness the ScaleGaarn the ToxicQu’nasSarnak

If you haven’t got a steady group, use the group finder to see if there is a group available. The point of these farms is to make mobs spawn quickly through force respawning.

Twilight Base Camp – Silithus

One of the most popular transmog farms in the game. Sets like Glorious, Jade and Vanguard drop here.

Isle of Thunder

One of the very few worthwhile farms in MoP. Various transmog drop here like the Bloodtusk Shoulderpads.

Un’goro Crater

Stone Guardians in the cave to the north. Drops a lot of transmog, most notably the Jade set.

Burning Steppes

There are four clusters of mobs here. Three in front of the building and one behind the hill. One player needs to stay behind the hill and kill. A lot of cloth and transmog drop here. Chan’s Imperial Robes can also drop here.

Northwatch Hold – The Barrens

Good farm if you can get a group together. A lot of Jade transmog and other gear.

There are three spots that can be farmed in Winterspring. All drop the Jade set along with the Azure Whelpling, and the oozes at the hot spring can also drop the Disgusting Oozeling

Stranglethorn Vale

STV is a good place to farm both pets (Parrot Cage (Hyacinth Macaw) & Razzashi Hatchling) and transmog like the First Mate Hat. There are several places to farm here but the best ones seem to be the elemental island and the troll ruins to the north.

Throne of Kil’Jaeden – Hellfire Peninsula

This farm is good for getting a ton of Primal Fire. Kill all the demon in the area. Every once in awhile, Kazzak will spawn and you will get some epics as well.

Kill the mobs in the area marked on the map, in southwestern Zangarmarsh. If you have a 5 man group you will get a ton of Primal Life.

Kill mobs around Kirin’Var Village in southern Netherstorm. Can be done solo, but is best in a group.

Shadowmoon Valley

Kill all the mobs on the edges on the map below. Mostly Primal Air but also good for patterns and transmog.

Twilight Highlands – Volatile Water

(Click to see the video on Youtube)

Farm water elementals for Volatile Water and some transmog. Works best with 5 druids. Use Potion of Treasure Finding for more loot.

Notable Loot: Tiny Treasure Chest

Twilight Highlands – Volatile Fire

(Click to see the video on Youtube)

Remember Potion of Treasure Finding for more loot.

Notable Loot: Tiny Treasure Chest

These farms are class-specific but can be done with class trials. You can only play a class trial for three hours, so before you have to remember to mail any gold or items before that. When your three hours have gone, simply make a new character. Many of these farms are very good if you can park a character at the farm, login, farm a while, then come back and farm more at a later time.

Death Knight Gold Farms

Twilight Outpost – Silithus

(Click to see the video on Youtube)

By using a level 58 character, Easiest way to do this is with a Death Knight, since they start at 55, but that option isn’t available to everyone. Any toon works. You can successfully loot items in the 57 – 59 item range, a range which has some of the most expensive and well sought after transmog items in the game. Run around in a circle killing Twilight Cultists

Notable Loot: glorious legplates, Glorious Breastplate, Assassination Blade,

Mage Gold Farms

Tome of Polymorph: Porcupine – Jade Forest

(Click to see the video on Youtube)

The entire Jade Forest is our farming spot for this one. Literally, the entire Jade Forest. The Jade Forest is crawling with porqupines and if you have a mage character, each one of them has chance to drop the Tome of Polymorph: Porcupine.

Tome of Polymorph: Polar Bear Cub – Dragonblight

(Click to see the video on Youtube)

The most rare and expensive Tome of Polymorph: Polar Bear Cub. The bears that drop it are VASTLY spread out across the zone and getting one can mean hard farming for a while. They also take a while to re spawn so watch out.

Tome of Polymorph: Monkey – Valley of the Four Winds

(Click to see the video on Youtube)

The Tome of Polymorph: Monkey drops from all hozen/monkeys in Valley of the Four Winds

Rogue Gold Farms

New Hearthglen – Dragonblight

Pickpocketed from mobs in New Hearthglen in Dragonblight and also some mobs in Icecrown. New Heartglen is best for farming though. Looking for Decahedral Dwarven Dice

Skorn – Howling Fjord

Worn Troll Dice

Pickpocket mobs for the Worn Troll Dice.

Maker’s Ascen – Uldum

Pickpocket Loaded Gnomish Dice from mobs.

Warlock Gold Farms

Sealed Tome of the Lost Legion

Kill rares with a Warlock on the Isle of Thunder for a chance at the Sealed Tome of the Lost Legion. Works best if you can park a Warlock here and log in every few hours or so.

There really isn’t one profession that is the best for gold making, it all depends on your playstyle. If you are really serious about making gold, you want to have almost all professions maxed across many toons.

Professions for farming Dungeons & Raids

For your transmog farming toon, you can choose between tailoring, enchanting and engineering. Tailoring gives you Cloth Scavenging which will give you more cloth. Enchanting is for disenchanting BoPs and other items. Engineering is for the Loot-A-Rang if you like using that when farming. Personally, I have tailoring due to i do Garrisons.

If you want easy fast gold though, then gathering professions (mining & herbalism) are good choices.

You will mostly be running current content zones and gathering whatever you find.

A lot of people ask about good routes to farm when doing these professions, but there really are no special routes to run. If a route is posted online then that area will quickly be overpopulated with people gathering. The best way to go about it is to get the Gathermate addon and spend a few hours gathering all over the zone. You will then get acquainted with the entire zone and where the different herbs or ore spawn, and you will get several of your own routes you can take depending on if there are other players competing with you for the nodes.

Always remember to either enchant your gloves with the current Herbalism or Mining Enchant for quicker gathering.

Also either get a Sky Golem or Monel-Hardened Stirrups or farm on a Druid, so that you can stay mounted while you gather.

Gathering in Tank spec or using Coarse Leather Barding will make you immune to being dazed when gathering.

At the start of every new expansion or when new crafting materials come out in patches herb picking is the most profitable way to make gold with Herbalism. Otherwise its what ever the current content herbs is what will weld you the most about of gold.

At the start of every new expansion or when new crafting materials come out in patches Mining is the most profitable way to make gold with Mining. Otherwise its what ever the current content Mining is what will weld you the most about of gold.

Notable Mining Spots

One farm to note is Khorium Ore is best farmed by a group of up to 10 people in Nagrand. Only 10 people can farm a resource before it disappears, so no more than 10. Simply go around farming ore in Nagrand in a raid group, when a Khorium Ore spawns, alert the group so that everyone can harvest it.

At the start of every new expansion or when new crafting materials come out in patches Skinning is the most profitable way to make gold with Skinning. Otherwise its what ever the current content Skinning is what will weld you the most about of gold.

When skinning it is advised that you get a Darkmoon Firewater.

Notable Skinning Spots

Nether Dragonscales & Wind Scales Farm

From Nether Drakes and Serpentwing Serpent in Blade’s Edge Mountains.

Savage Leather Farm

Farming Savage Leather can be done in Mount Hyjal. The Brimstone Hounds there force spawn. Remember to use a Potion of Treasure Finding.

At the start of every new expansion or when new crafting material comes out in patches Fishing is the most profitable way to make gold with Fishing. Otherwise its what ever the current content Fishing is what will weld you the most about of gold.

Notable Fishing Spots

Dark Herring

The Dark Herring can be fished in the pools of water in Howling Fjord. It can be extremely expensive on some servers.

Concerning crafting professions I will keep it as short as possible. All you need to know to make a profit with any crafting profession is how to use TSM.

You should also check out The Lazy Goldmaker – Battle for Azeroth Spreadsheet if you want to make gold with BFA crafting.

There are basically three screens in the TSM crafting UI that you need to know your way around to make gold.

The first one is this. I’ve circled all the important bits.

  1. Profit and Sell Rate: This area shows you how profitable an item is and also how often it sells. The higher the number, the better.
  2. Craft: The area in the bottom left will let you craft or queue and item. Add a list of items you want to craft and the total profit will show up in the bottom right area.
  3. Crating Queue: This is all the items that you have put in the queue. I usually craft any item that is profitable and will keep a set amount on the AH at all times.
  4. Total Cost and Profit: The area at the bottom right will show you the total cost if you want to buy all the materials and the total profit.

Next up is the gathering window. This window shows you all the items you need to craft everything in your queue. When you have everything, you can go back to the first window and craft the queue. Click open task list to open a small window showing everything you need.

Lastly there is the Crafting Reports page which is good for tracking how many of each item you already have on the AH. For transmog having more than 2 at any given time is not worth it, unless it’s a very popular item.

Below is a list of a few items of note that are good for making gold. Most of the time you should just use TSM to find what is profitable, but I felt like the items below needed a mention here as well. The list is a work in progress and more will be added later.

Goblin Glider Kit – These are very popular, and the price fluctuates a lot. Non-engineers can even make them through the Engineering Works in your WoD Garrison.

Sky Golem – Very profitable mount as you can only make one every 30 days. Consider making this on more than one alt.

There are two main ways of making gold from battle pets. Farming and selling and pet arbitrage.

I will only list which battle pets can be worth farming. Some of them are also listed in the Open World Farming locations further up in the guide if they are really good or if they are part of a farm that also yields transmog.

Energized ManafiendEmpowered ManafiendEmpyreal Manafiend – Rares in uninstanced Highmaul

Half-Empty Food Container / FilthlingQuivering Filth in Isle of Thunder

Disgusting Oozeling / Azure Whelpling – See farming section above for more info.

Parrot Cage (Hyacinth Macaw) / Razzashi Hatchling – See farming section above for more info.

Sprite Darter – See farming section above for more info.

Tiny Crimson Whelpling

Bronze Whelpling / Time-Locked Box – Can be done as 5 man farm in Okril’Ion Hold in Northern Blasted Lands

Disgusting Oozeling / Black Tabby Cat – In Southshore, Hillsbrad Foothills. Can be done as 5 man farm.

Dark Whelpling – See farming section above for more info.

Crimson Whelpling – See farming section above for more info.

Servant of Demidos – From Demidos in Shadowmoon Valley

Zomstrok – from mobs on the Forgotten Shore in Shadowmoon Valley

Ruby Droplet – from the Timeless Isle

Fox Kit

Ravasaur Hatchling

Darting Hatchling

Leaping Hatchling

Tiny Sporebat

This list is a work in progress, more pets will be added. Suggestions are welcome.

This is a great way of making gold. Basically, you are buying a pet on one server, learning it, logging on another server and selling it there. This is possible since battle pets are account-wide.

Go to to compare prices of different servers. I’ve done this a lot, and I’ve bought pets for a few hundred gold on a server, transferred it to my main server and sold for 10k gold and more. You also need to buy cheap pets on your main server to transfer to other servers so that you can build up a bit of gold on other servers so that you can buy pets.

Also make sure to check out Aellice’s Quick Pet Battle Guide

I won’t go too much into detail on how to set up TSM as there is a lot of info out there on that. In the future, I will post a video here with my setup. SamadanPlaysWoW has a great playlist of videos on how to set up TSM.

Flipping items on the AH is one of the ways to make major amounts of gold in WoW. The more you have to spend on flipping, the more you can make, so to start flipping you will need a bit of starting capital.

There really isn’t any trick I can teach you or items I can tell you about to make money flipping. Flipping is a lot of work and you have to know your market. Every item in WoW fluctuates in prices so that you can buy it when it’s cheap and sell when it’s high.

The Undermine Journal has a really good tool called deals that you can use to find items that are priced low on your server that you can flip, so definitely check that out.

Another easy way to flip is by using the sniping feature in TSM. It will automatically search for deals. Be sure to have a look at the market price for your server though as many items that show up in the scan are not always as good a deal as they first look like.

Track Prices

Tracking prices is also another important aspect of flipping items for gold. You can either track prices by inspecting items with TSM, using The Undermine Journal or by making an excel spreadsheet yourself of a few key items that you want to keep track of.

As an example, I know that prices for Goblin Glider Kit fluctuate a lot. I used to sell mine for around 30-40 gold each about 2 months ago, but recently the market was flooded with them so the price is down to under 10g each on my server. By experience I am pretty certain that the prices will go up again, so right now I am hoarding them on one alt, both by making them myself and by buying them on the AH when they are really cheap. As soon as the price goes back over 20g I will start unloading them for a profit.

Cancel Scan

If you are one of the many people that can’t sell transmog, chances are you aren’t running cancel scans. Selling transmog is still really slow and you should have hundreds or thousands of different items for sale on the AH in order to sell just a few a day.

A cancel scan in TSM will check and see if you have been undercut on an item and then cancel it so that you can repost it. If you have been undercut, especially on transmog, you won’t sell your item most likely. I usually run a cancel scan once a day, but you can do more if you want.

Some people prefer to set your auctions to 12 hours instead, and then repost everything more often.

Resetting Prices

Resetting prices is another concept you should know about when working the AH, especially on low pop servers.

The idea is pretty simple. If there are not other players selling a particular item, you can set the price yourself. If you suddenly see a price increase or decrease for a particular item, then someone has probably reset it.

If you have a lot of gold and knowledge of your market you can also buy up every single auction of a particular item, and then reset the price and hopefully make a profit.

Vendor Scan & Disenchant Scan

These are two other features in TSM that you can use to make some extra gold. It will search the AH for either item that you can vendor or items that you can disenchant for a profit.

Alt parking is a good passive way of making gold. It can be done with normal alts or with class trial characters. This guide already has a few farming spots where you can park your alt, but I’m going to list a few here also.

  • Rare mobs like Doom Lord Kazzak & Doomwalker
  • Areas with chests (see below for more info)
  • At Vendors with limited supply items (see below from more info)

Chest farming involves flying around and picking up chests. You will have to get the gathermate and gathermate data addons so that you can import all the treasure chest locations into your gathermate.

After importing the data into gathermate you will see all chests on the map like this.

Importing will allow you to see all the chests on the map. The best way to farm the chests is by using an Outlaw Rogue since they can see whether a chest is spawned or not on the minimap. Other classes will have to get up close and look around while a Rogue can see if the chest has spawned on the minimap. You can use a trial character for this. Just remember to mail the items you get before your three hours have gone.

Rogues will see a yellow dot on the minimap if the chest is there.

You will need to cover very large areas in order to get a few chests as they are quite rare. Vanilla, TBC and WotLK zones work best. The way I like to do it is to park one Rogue class trial in Outland and one in Northrend, then fly over the whole continent and look for chests. One whole run might only yield 3-10 chests but you will still make a bunch of gold as you are almost guaranteed rares in chests in these zones.

Selling boosts is also a good way of making gold. For solo players or smaller groups, you can sell Island Expedition runs, but you will need a twinked character. You can also sell boosts for mythic+ and raids if you have a decent group.

Items you buy from vendors can be resold on the auction house for a profit. The most common way of making gold this way is finding either vendors with limited supply items that you can only buy a set amount of a particular item from and then you have to wait a while before someone can buy more, or buy items from vendors located in locations that are far off. There are also vendors that will sell items for other currencies than gold. One more important thing to note is that you can sell very common easily available items on the AH as well. Like crafting materials from profession supply vendors that only cost a few copper or silver that can be resold on the AH for gold, and they actually have a decent sale rate.

Common items like this Rune Thread only cost a few silver at a vendor buy can be resold on the AH for 10+ gold.

Alternative Currency Vendors

At these vendors, you can spend other currencies than gold, then sell the items you buy for gold.

Krixel Pinchwhistle – In your garrisons trading post (assuming you have one). Can spend Garrison Resources for crafting materials that you can sell for gold.

Danky / Krystel – Sells various crafting materials for Spirit of Harmony. In some cases, you can buy Spirit of Harmony, use it to buy materials and sell the materials for a profit. Check tsm for what material is worth the most and has a high sell rate.

In order to get to the quest line to get your garrison you will first need to do the WOD intro. Yes this sucks but you will need to do it. To get to the blasted lands you can do the following.

In Orgrimmar , talk to Thrallmar Mage by the Shattrath portal in the Portal room. These NPCs will take you to the Blasted Lands , right by the Dark Portal . The Blasted Lands is a short flight from Stormwind, for Alliance players.

The Hexweave bags are still the largest bags in the game at 32 slots. This means that they are in very high demand. People will want at least 4 of these for every new character.

Getting started

Getting the optimal set up for hexweave bags is quite a bit more involved than my earlier simple gold tips. The recipe can be bought from the tailoring trainer in Stormshield or at the tailor in your Tailoring Emporium in your Warlords of Draenor Garrison. The recipe costs 5 Secrets Of Draenor Tailoring, which is a daily cooldown you learn from the tailoring scroll. The Hexweave bag requires 100 hexweave cloth and 10 Sorcerous Earth to craft.

Hexweave Cloth is Bind on Pickup and based on a daily cooldown spell. In addition the amount of cloth you get is based on your Tailoring skill. In addition to the cooldown you can get hexweave cloth from work orders at your Tailoring Emporium. The maximum yield per daily cooldown is 20 Hexweave cloth. You should aim to reach 700 skill as fast as possible to guarantee the maximum yield and maximum profits. The easiest way to level tailoring is At max yields for the daily cooldown the crafting cost of one bag is 100 Sumptuous Fur, 50 Gorgrond Flytrap and 10 Sorcerous Earth.

Maximizing the work order yield requires a lvl 100 follower with the tailoring trait. This will guarantee a yield of 4 cloth per workorder. This gives the crafting cost per bag as 125 Sumptuous Fur. The best way will probably be to use both, but it depends on your servers prices and the relative prices of Flytraps and Fur.

Setting up the Garrison for work orders

You unlock the Garrison by doing the introduction questline to Warlords of Draenor in your factions zone. To get it to level 2 you need to finish the starting zone up to the following quest (Horde version). To get the level 3 garrison you need to get to level 100. You will then have access to the quest to finish your rank 3 garrison which costs 5000 gold.

Garrison buildings make up your Garrison. They determine the maximum (or minimum) profit or income. For which class to focus your Garrison efforts on I’d select either a Druid, Mage or Shaman. Druid preferably as it makes Mining and Herb Garden go way faster.

For a garrison optimized for Hexweave bags you need the following buildings:

  • Lunarfall Inn/Frostwolf Tavern
    • Only Need Rank 2
    • Will need 1 Tailoring Follower
    • Max out all Followers with Extreme Scavenging
  • Tailoring Emporium
    • Get to Rank 3
    • Put Tailoring Follower in via Building Table
  • Barracks
    • Allows you to have 25 Followers
  • Trading Post
    • Only need Rank 1
    • Try and get Sumptuous Fur when its trade able at 16 Garrison Resources
  • Herb Garden
    • Assign your herbalist follower to your garrison herb garden. (Walk to the herb garden and ask them to produce Gorgrond Flytrap.
  • Mine
    • True Iron Ore goes for more than Blackrock Ore. Less True Iron Ore nodes appear in your Mine as well making them worth more. It takes 5 minutes to clear out a level 3 mine, even faster if you’re on a Shaman or Druid.

You can also gain some extra utility from a Storehouse, but they will not impact the crafting cost of Hexweave bags. The Storehouse will allow you to queue more work orders so you don’t have to log in as often. If you want more info on the Garrison in general I suggest checking out the Garrison guide on icy veins.

Garrison Missions

Garrison Missions are extremely profitable, even with the nerf they got some time ago. Aim to get the followers with the extreme scavenger trait. Other than that, Choose the missions in the following order:

Garrison resources > Follower Upgrades (If necessary) > Apexis Crystals > Oil > Character Gear > Traits > XP (If even necessary)

Also, if you see Medallion of the Legion and Huge Orge Cache get it immediately. Medallion of the Legion is probably the most amazing money maker. It only shows up every once in a while and sells for exorbitant amounts. They seem to sell any where from 5000g to 10000g (or more).

As for the shipyard, I do use it. Just be careful because your ships can sink. Go for apexis crystals, I generally won’t send any ship out if the chance of mission success is 75 percent or lower. Too risky. I usually aim for 85 percent or higher, and that does sometimes mean not sending out all ships. Also, try to get the Sorcerous Air, Earth, Fire, etc because those sell quite well and can be shuffled into a routine for making stuff for professions.

Winter Veil Mount

Complete Winter Veil dailies which start at your Garrison . 5 dailies should get your enough Merry Supplies for a chance at a Savage Gift. You can repeat this with all your alts!

Minion of Grumpus is the big ticket item you are looking to get. This mount will sell for 50,000 gold to 200,000 gold. It has a chance to be contained in Savage Gift, which you can buy for 5 Merry Supplies from Izzy Hollyfizzle in your Garrison.

Savage Gift can also contain

The WoW Token allows players to buy game time with gold in-game, or buy game time with real money and sell that game time via a token for gold in-game. This guide covers how to buy and sell the WoW Token. Want to know the price of the tokens? Check out

WoW Token Basics

  • WoW Tokens provides a more fluid way for players to obtain subscription time, balance, and gold. Players have the option to obtain subscription time via the AH for gold, or make some extra gold by purchasing tokens for money and selling them on the AH.

  • Extra gold is obtained by purchasing WoW Token via the in-game shop for cash ($20 USD/$25 AUD/20 EUR) and then selling it on the WoW Token Auction House.

  • 30 days of subscription time is acquired with gold by visiting the “Game Time” section on the AH. It was announced that lapsed accounts with enough gold can reactivate accounts via the “Reactivate via Gold” option on the character select screen.

  • WoW Tokens are part of a special region-wide Auction House. Everything else for sale on the AH is server-wide. This means that anyone on a US server can purchase your WoW Token if you list it from a US realm.

  • The gold price for these tokens on the AH is not set by players --it is set via an internal algorithm. It will automatically increase and decrease based on supply and demand. You cannot choose what price you want to list the token for or the duration of the auction. All tokens for sale in a region will be sold for the same price at a particular moment.

  • WoW Token (silver background) is the item that can be sold on the AH. This is different from WoW Token (gold background) which is the item that grants you game time. This is handy as you can’t accidentally click on WoW Token and use the item on yourself!

Selling WoW Token and Getting Gold

Selling WoW Token is a two-part process–obtaining a WoW Token by paying money and then listing it on the Auction House.

Obtaining WoW Token via the In-Game Shop with Cash

  • Open up the In-Game Shop. The in-game shop button can be accessed in four different places:

    • On the bottom-left side of the character select screen
    • At the top of the Game Menu accessed via “Escape”
    • The Interface panel to the left of the Game Menu button.
    • The Help Window that appears when the help button is clicked on the WoW Token AH display.
  • Click on the “WoW Token” option on the left-hand side of the screen. You will have the option to “Buy Now” and preview the current auction value.

  • The WoW Token costs $20 on US servers. This price will not change over time.

  • Do note that this is a different item than the one you can buy on the AH–you are unable to click on this version and learn the game time by accident.

  • A shop confirmation window will appear showing your item, cost, and method of payment. Click the X at the top right to cancel the purchase, or Buy Now to obtain the item.

  • The item will be delivered directly to your inventory upon purchase, with a confirmation email sent to your address.

Selling WoW Token on the Auction House

  1. Visit any Auction House and click on the “Auctions” tab. Right-click on your WoW Token to have it show up under “Auction Item.”

  2. When the auction is set up, it will display the current fixed gold price and the estimated time to sell. If you are happy with the price, click the “Create Auction” button. You do not set the price, Blizzard does via their internal algorithm based off supply and demand.

  3. A confirmation window will pop up stating the exact gold price, that your Token can’t be refunded, and that the auction cannot be cancelled. If you are fine with this, click on “Create Auction.”

  4. The Auction is now created and shows up with your other auctions on the “Auction” tab.

  5. The seller cannot specify the Buyout price and Auction Duration for the WoW Token, and buyers can only buyout WoW Token, not bid. There is no deposit.

  6. You are sent the amount of gold promised to you in the confirmation window. If the price of the token has gone up or down since you listed it, that does not affect the amount of gold you will get.

Buying WoW Token and Getting Game

This is something i do not recommend. The reason behind it is because you are better off to use the WoW Tokens to purchase blizzard bucks. Below will further explain on what to do. But if you are in need of a quick month game time in order to keep your sub going please check out the following Buying WoW Token and Getting Game Time.

WoW Token for Blizzard Balance

This is by far the best way to gain game time. If you are confused in any way shape or form please get in contact with Cataclysm via discord to assist you.

How Blizzard Balance Works

  • Blizzard Balance, as described on the official site, “is an electronic balance players can use to purchase Blizzard Entertainment games and services.”

  • You can use your Blizzard balance to purchase the following:

    • Digital versions of Blizzard and Activision games.

    • Character services like realm and faction transfer.

    • World of Warcraft mounts, pets, cosmetic helms from the in-game shop.

    • Hearthstone card packs and adventures.

    • Heroes of the Storm Heroes, skins, and mounts.

    • Etc, Etc, Etc…

Check out the Blizzard Shop and see what you can buy with your blizzard balance.

Blizzard Balance for Game Time

Now lots of people get confused with this part. Getting game time cant be done? But yes, yes it can be done. For how long who knows. Maybe has always been intended but some people are just understanding it.

You will need to build up your blizzard balance buy farming in game. You will need to get enough blizzard balance to make it worth your wild. Buying a token in game will prompt you to either get a WoW token for 1 month sub or Blizzard balance to put money into your Blizzard Balance piggy bank. If you are looking to pay for your subscription you will always want to get the Blizzard Balance.

Please do the following:

  • Go to the Auction House
    • Click on WoW Token
    • Buy Out
  • Go to Mail Box
    • Open up Mail and Click on Token
  • Click on $15 Battle . Net Balance

This will now be added into you blizzard balance via the Blizzard Shop in the upper right hand corner.

Purchase Game Time

Well now that you have some blizzard balance you can now go ahead and pay for that subscription.

  • Go to this Game Time Link
  • Click on 180 Days (6 Months)
    • I suggest the 180 day (6 Months). Reason behind this is cause by buying the 180 days you will then have left over blizzard balance going into the next purchase. Which means when you buy a 2nd 180 day subscription it will equal out to getting 11 months + 1 month free. Which means you will save your self 1 WoW token purchase.
  • Click on Buy Now
  • Find Pay With
    • Change it to Blizzard Balance
  • Click on Pay Now

This is the best method on how to pay for you subscription using Blizzard balance and saving your self one wow token purchase and gaining 1 month free for a year.
